Director – White Violet Center
White Violet Center for Eco-Justice, a ministry of the Sisters of Providence, exists to foster a way of living that recognizes the interdependence of all creation. Grounded in an understanding of Providence Spirituality as hope and healing, the center offers leadership and education in the preservation, restoration and reverent use of all natural resources.
We are currently searching for a Director to have overall responsibility for the Center to include program development, business planning, marketing, budgeting, and daily operation of the facility. The Director will also supervise staff, manage the budget, and represent the Center to the public. Currently the ministry includes overseeing an alpaca farm, 343 acres of state certified organic farmland, a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program and classified forest.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- M.A. or M.S. preferably in education, eco-justice, eco-spirituality or administration.
- 3-5 years management experience.
- A working knowledge of eco-justice and the philosophy/spirituality in which it is grounded.
- An understanding of and commitment to organic farming/gardening principles.
Tour / Event Manager
Sisters of Providence are currently searching for a Tour Manager/Hospitality Coordinator to oversee tour management and hospitality at St. Mary of the Woods. Job duties will include creating a destination for pilgrims, spiritual seekers, and other groups and organizations; assist in creating an environment of hospitality with communities at SMW and beyond; develop and market tours to Mother Theodore Shrine, Providence Center, Church of Immaculate Conception, White Violet Center, and other shrines and land holdings at SMW; implement and evaluate hospitality programs; promote tours, programs, retreats, and facility rental through marketing.
The successful applicant should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in Marketing, Hospitality Management or related field.
- Minimum of three years related experience, including supervision of support staff or working with volunteers.

Knowledge of state and federal health regulations and clinical standards of nursing practice and delivery systems, supervision management, staff development and cost containment. Ability to perform comprehensive assessments and development individualized plans of care based on resident needs. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with all levels of health care professionals and support staff. Must be able to work under varying degrees of supervision.
